Executive Coaching

A thinking partner for leaders in complex, fast-changing conditions, who want to act on what matters most.

I help you relate authentically to the pressures, intensity, and opportunities of being a leader in a way that brings out the best in you and the people you work with.

Who this is for

You lead in conditions that rarely stay still. Decisions are high-stakes, information is incomplete, and a lot of people are looking to you. You are good at analysis, and you may have noticed that analysis alone no longer settles the question.

Perhaps you can’t tell which of the demands on you deserve your attention. Perhaps a decision looks right on paper and sits wrong in you. Perhaps you are about to have a conversation you have been avoiding. Or you simply want a place to think honestly with someone who isn’t part of your organisation.

This work is open to all leaders. It may also suit women and leaders from marginalised or under-represented backgrounds who want to speak and act in ways that are authentically their own, question norms that no longer serve, and use their authority fully.

How I work

I’m a thinking partner, not an adviser with a framework to apply. We start with what is in front of you and look at it through more than one way of knowing:

  • Analysis gives structure, options and consequences. We use it fully, but it isn’t the only source of information.

  • The body’s felt sense often registers what the mind hasn’t yet admitted. A tightening in the chest before you say yes, or a settling when you finally name the real issue, is information about a decision.

  • Emotion tells you what you care about and what is at stake.

  • Intuition and relationship help you read what is emerging in a team, a negotiation or a room before it can be put in a report.

Bringing these together helps you separate noise from what matters, and take courageous action grounded in your deeper values and sense of purpose. I don’t mean heroic action. I mean considered action, taken from a settled place rather than driven only by urgency or expectation.

What we might work on

  • Clarity under pressure. Finding what matters when everything is pressing, and making decisions you can stand behind.

  • Staying steady when it counts. Under stress the body’s alarm response can narrow your thinking and shorten your patience. Learning to notice it early and settle it is a practical leadership skill. It lets you think, listen and choose rather than react.

  • Communication and influence. How you come across, what you hold back, and how to say what is true with care and precision.

  • Difficult, high-stakes conversations. If you are preparing for one, I can support you before and after it.

  • Your relationship to power. How you use it, avoid it, or are uneasy with it. We explore this without judgement, as part of leading well.

What sessions are like

Sessions are conversations. You bring a situation, a decision or a question. We think it through together, and I may invite you to notice what happens in your body as you speak, or as you consider one option and then another. You can try this at whatever pace suits you. Many leaders are new to it, and no prior experience is needed.

Why psychotherapy is the foundation

I have worked as a somatic psychotherapist since 2012, and my coaching grows out of that practice. My training was an MA in Somatic Counselling Psychology at Naropa University (2012), with dual concentrations in Dance/Movement Psychotherapy and Body Psychotherapy. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Master Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA), where I am also a Trustee.

For you, this means I can stay steady when the conversation touches something strong, notice what is happening in the room and in the body, and be clear about where coaching ends and therapy begins.

Experience with leaders and organisations

Since 2019 I have been a Senior Leadership and Team Development Consultant with RISE Beyond Consulting, and I was a Managing Partner from 2020 to 2024. I have led long-term work on collaboration and culture with technology, engineering and hospitality organisations, supporting senior leadership teams and group-level executive teams. I have also worked with third-sector organisations.

I know the pace and politics of senior roles from the inside, and I bring that to individual coaching.

I also lead Body-Informed Leadership, where over the past decade I have developed my work on how power is created and practised.

Scope: what coaching is and isn’t

Coaching is not therapy. When we work on steadiness under pressure, we treat it as a leadership capacity, not as treatment. If something comes up that would be better supported in therapy, I will say so, and we can talk about how to proceed.

Questions You May Have

Starting with a conversation.

If you want a thinking partner for the decisions in front of you, I’d be glad to talk.
